The t-shirt might be the most ubiquitous piece of clothing there is, which makes creating one that feels special a challenge.

This one took over a year to develop, starting with the fabric. Working directly with a sixth-generation, family-run knitting mill in Massachusetts, a soft but substantial 5.5 oz organic cotton jersey was developed specifically for this shirt. The mill has been knitting fabric in New England since the 1800s. You don't last that long without knowing a thing or two.

From there, the fabric travels just 25 miles to a small sew shop outside Boston, run by someone with more than 40 years in the apparel industry.

For the Off White colorway, the natural cotton undergoes a gentle shade-reduction process using hydrogen peroxide rather than chlorine bleach, lightening and softening the fabric without taking it all the way to an optical white.

Every step, from knitting to sewing to garment dyeing, is done in New England.

Materials/Care

The ‘closeknit’ fabric is a 5.5 oz jersey knit, made of 100% US-grown, combed and ring spun organic cotton yarns.

Machine wash cold with like colors, tumble dry low.
